5 Underrated Photography Spots in Niagara Falls

Beyond the obvious — where guides take their own photos.

Everyone shoots from Table Rock. Here are five spots that locals and guides prefer.

1. Queen Victoria Park, south end — wide angle of both falls with foreground gardens, best at golden hour.

2. The Whirlpool Aero Car overlook — green water spinning 35 metres below, almost no crowds.

3. Dufferin Islands — five minutes upstream from the brink, mirror-still water and zero tourists.

4. The lower observation deck at Journey Behind the Falls — you are eye-level with the bottom of Horseshoe Falls. Bring a lens cloth.

5. Niagara-on-the-Lake clock tower at blue hour — heritage-town glow, easy parking, great for a portrait or two on the way back to Toronto.

Golden hour in summer is around 8:30 pm. Most day tours are heading back by then — book a sunset add-on or stay overnight to catch it.
